Liberals everywhere are whining like crazy today after Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the presidential election. Now, the citizens of one extremely liberal state are considering leaving the United States altogether due to Trump’s win.

According to The Political Insider, the people of California are considering seceding from the union rather than live in Trump’s America.

“Since Donald Trump’s electoral victory was first announced, #Calexit has been trending on Twitter, with distraught Californians looking to form their own state,” Metro reported.

Here’s how the people of California responded on Twitter:

The Constitution does not actually ban state secession, but there is a legal problem based on the case of Texas v. White.

“When Texas became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble relation,” Metro reported. “The union between Texas and the other States was as complete, as perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States. There was no place for reconsideration or revocation, except through revolution or through consent of the States.”
