Days after Fox News CEO Roger Ailes announced his resignation from the network following Gretchen Carlson’s sexual harassment lawsuit against him, another major figure has departed from Fox.
According to Western Journalism, former executive vice president of editorial content Michael Clemente has been dismissed from Fox. Adweek reported that Clemente’s dismissal was not related to Ailes’ departure, but TheBlaze noted that there were no signs of Clemente leaving before Ailes resigned.
Clemente joined Fox from ABC News in 2009 and he served as executive vice president for seven years. In April, he was transferred to a specials/longform unit and was replaced by longtime Fox News executive Jay Wallace.
Clemente’s righthand man Peter Boyer, who joined Fox in 2012, has also been fired by the network. It remains to be seen whether more executives will be departing.
