Just a few weeks before the Republican National Convention, Donald Trump’s top Vice Presidential choices have finally leaked.
The Washington Post reported this week that Newt Gingrich is the frontrunner to become Trump’s running mate. According to The Blaze, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is a close second in the race to become Trump’s Vice President.
Sources have confirmed that Trump campaign officials have asked both Gingrich and Christie to submit documents for the vetting process. They have also each been asked to answer over 100 questions from Arthur B. Culvahouse, Jr., who vetted former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for Arizona Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.
The men have also been asked by Culvahouse to submit extensive personal and professional materials, including tax records, any published articles and books.
Though Gingrich and Christie are the frontrunners, Trump officials warned that the business mogul may still shakeup the shortlist. Other names on his list include Republican Sens. Jeff Sessions (Ala.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Tom Cotton (Ark.), John Thune (S.D.) and Joni Ernst (Iowa), and Govs. Mike Pence (Ind.) and Mary Fallin (Okla.).
