A Fox News reporter was fired this week after making an “offensive” joke about Michael Brown’s mother.
According to Daily Mail, Bobby Hughes was fired from Fox 2 News after posting the following a joke on Facebook about Brown’s mother being invited to speak at the DNC:
“Bobby Hughes no longer works here; he’s no longer an employee of KTVI,” spokeswoman Suzie Mahe told the St Louis Post-Dispatch.
The Ethical Society of Police, an organization that represents minority police officer, released a statement calling for Hughes’ apology.
“The reference to “lead,” the loss of “200 lbs in two years,” and other words in this statement are a clear reference to Michael Brown being shot and killed by Officer Darren Wilson in 2014,” the society said in a statement obtained by the St Louis American.
Brown was shot dead by police two years ago, causing a race-baiting movement that quickly spread throughout the country. Do you think this anchor deserved to be fired? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
