Country music fans are in mourning this week after legendary star Eddie Montgomery collapsed onstage while performing with his band over the weekend.

Rumors immediately spread that Montgomery had suffered a heart attack, but his band Montgomery Gentry took to Twitter to clarify that Montgomery suffered from dehydration and is doing well.

“There are false reports floating around that Eddie had a heart attack last night,” the band wrote on Twitter, according to Fox News. “NOT TRUE. He was dehydrated and returned to the stage.”

The band was performing at the Cornstock Concert on the Hill in Garnett, Kansas when Montgomery collapsed. Concertgoers said that Troy Gentry continued performing while Montgomery recovered. The singer later took a photo with his wife Jennifer to let his fans know he’s ok.

“Eddie and Jennifer send their regards from Key West and thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes,” the band said. “And he’s drinking plenty of H20!”

We wish Eddie Montgomery a speedy recovery!
