The final presidential debate took place in Las Vegas last night, and during it, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton was caught in a massive lie.
“I will not raise taxes on anyone making $250,000 or less,” Clinton promised, according to The Federalist Papers.
This, of course, is 100% false.
In fact, Clinton has a long history of raising taxes on the middle class and those who can least afford it. She has been in favor of a 25 percent national sales tax on guns since 1993. When she was asked back in January of this year if she would veto a payroll-tax hike on every American, Clinton replied: “No, no.”
“I’m very supportive of the mayor’s proposal to tax soda to get universal preschool for kids,” she told Philadelphia voters in April.
“Frankly,” Senator Bernie Sanders responded, “I am very surprised that Secretary Clinton would support this regressive tax after pledging not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000.”
Clinton has also said that she is open to taxing carbon dioxide, which would increases prices all over the economy and make maintaining employment difficult for those looking for work and hoping to keep their jobs.
“Right now we’ve not proposed a carbon tax,” Clinton campaign chief John Podesta told journalists on July 26. “But if Congress wants to come forward with one, we’ll take a look at it.”
The Democratic presidential nominee is also in favor of “sin taxes,” on alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and large sodas, which are consumed more by lower-income Americans than anyone else.
Once again, Clinton has been caught blatantly lying to the American people. SHARE this story so we can expose her!
