Missiles Fired At US Ship – It’s Happening

The news cycle has revolved around the election and infamous Trump audio recording this past week, so many Americans think nothing else is going on in the world. Unfortunately, something else entirely is happening that has put the safety of our entire country at risk.

According to Right Wing News, Iran launched an attack on the U.S. early on Monday when they fired missiles at a U.S. Navy ship in the Red Sea.

Thankfully, the missiles did not hit the ship, but the Department of Defense said it was clear that the ship was targeted. This came just one week after our Navy had to intervene when a United Arab Emirates auxiliary ship was destroyed by Houthis off the coast of Yemen.

“We assess the missiles were launched from Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen,” Captain Jeff Davis said, confirming the attack. “The United States remains committed to ensuring freedom of navigation everywhere in the world, and we will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety of our ships and our servicemembers.”

The ship that was targeted has been identified as the USS Macon, which was forced to deploy “onboard defensive measures.” The ship was undergoing routine operations in international waters when the missiles were launched at it.

While Obama’s White House has spoken out to condemn the attack, they have otherwise done nothing except ease sanctions with Iran.
