Alexandria Vera, 24, found herself in hot water last year when it was revealed she had engaged in a perverted affair with one of her 13 year-old students.
IJ Review reported that Vera was an English teacher at Thomas J. Stovall Middle School when she began the months-long affair with the boy. Their relationship began in the summer of 2015 after he sent her an Instagram message.
Both Vera and the boy told police that they “had sex on almost a daily basis” and “love each other.” They also made the shocking claim that the boys parents were aware of the relationship, and that they even approved of it!
Making matters even worse is the fact that Vera eventually became pregnant with the boy’s child, and she said the boy’s parents were “excited” and “very supportive” of the entire relationship. The teacher ended up aborting the baby after Child Protective Services began asking questions.
In June of 2016, Vera was finally arrested and charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Now, things have just gotten really bad for Vera, as she has accepted a plea deal that could put her in prison for 30 years. The maximum sentence for her charge was life in prison, but her plea deal has made it so that the most she could be put away for is 30 years.
“We’re very much hoping for deferred adjudication,” her lawyer Ricardo Rodriguez told Chron.
A deferred adjudication means that if Vera completes whatever sentence she is given, there will be nothing on her criminal record. We hope this does not happen, because this woman should AT LEAST be a SEX OFFENDER FOR LIFE!
