The Second Amendment has been under attack ever since Barack Hussein Obama ever since he took office eight long years ago. That’s why it came as a massive relief to gun owners everywhere when Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the presidential election last week.
Now, Trump is following through with his campaign promises to protect the Second Amendment by calling for a nationwide concealed carry law.
According to Controversial Times, Trump said “concealed carry…is a right, not a privilege.”
“The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway,” the president-elect said. “That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.”
HR 923 is a national reciprocity bill that was drawn up by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) and Representative Marlin Stutzman (R-IN-3rd).
We’re glad to see that Trump is making gun rights one of his top priorities as president. SHARE this story if you support a nationwide concealed carry law!
