Throughout Barack Hussein Obama’s presidency, liberal race-baiters have decided that it’s “cool” to burn Americans flag as a protest to show how much they hate our “racist” country. Now that Donald Trump is about to take office, however, he is letting everyone know that flag-burning will NOT be tolerated during his time in the White House.
Politico reported that Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to say that burning our flag should be a crime punishable by a forfeiture of U.S. citizenship or a year in jail.
“Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!” Trump wrote.

A constitutional amendment that would ban desecrating the American flag has been proposed on numerous occasions, but has always been shot down. The bill was most recently voted down in 2006, where current Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and then New York Senator Hillary Clinton voted against it.
Jason Miller, Trump’s senior communications advisor, appeared on CNN’s “New Day” minutes after the president-elect posted the Tweet. The advisor proceeded to try and defend Trump to host Chris Cuomo, insisting that burning the flag should be illegal while also trying in vain to pivot to the announcement of Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) as Trump’s pick to be secretary of health and human services.
“Chris, flag burning is completely ridiculous. And I think you know that and I think the vast majority of Americans would agree,” Miller told CNN anchor Chris Cuomo.
“But legal,” Cuomo interjected.
“But Chris, it’s completely ridiculous. And I don’t think there’s a big universe of people out there who support flag burning. It’s terrible and it’s despicable,” Miller replied.
