Earlier today, we reported that Donald Trump had arrived at the White House to meet with Barack Obama privately about their transition of power. Now, the men have broken their silence about the over-90 minute meeting, and what happened may surprise you.
Daily Mail reported that Trump said he had only intended the getting-to-know-you meeting to last ten to 15 minutes, but it went on much longer than that. He described Obama as a “very good” man to reporters after the meeting ended.
“I very much look forward to dealing with the president in the future, including counsel,” Trump said in a statement. “He explained some of the difficulties some of the high flying assets, some of the really great things that have been achieved.”
Obama spoke first after the meeting concluded, saying his top priority was to “ensure our president-elect is successful.”
“I have been very encouraged by…the interest in President Elect Trump’s wanting to work with my team,” Obama said.
