Ever since the presidential election, liberals have been trying to figure out a way to steal the presidency from Donald Trump. Now, Hillary Clinton has been given new hope in her chances of taking the White House, as liberal Harvard Professor Larry Lessig has revealed that 20 electors are thinking about voting against Trump when the Electoral College convenes on December 19.
If these 20 electors do what Lessig says they will, it would put anti-Trump activists more than halfway toward stalling Trump’s election.
Politico reported that Lessig runs the anti-Trump group, “Electors Trust,” which offers pro bono legal counsel to Republican presidential electors considering ditching Trump. It also has been giving electors the opportunity to privately communicate their thoughts on turning on Trump.
“Obviously, whether an elector ultimately votes his or her conscience will depend in part upon whether there are enough doing the same. We now believe there are more than half the number needed to change the result seriously considering making that vote,” Lessig said.
The professor gave no evidence to back up his claim, which was contradicted by the Republican National Committee assertion that an operation by the GOP found that all Republican electors are planning to remain loyal to Trump except for one. The only exception being Christopher Suprun of Texas, who has been vocal about his plans to turn on Trump.
In order for the anti-Trump activists to get their way, they need to convince 37 Republicans to rebel against Trump.
