In less than a month, the Obamas will be moving out of the White House and into a $5.3 million mansion in the ritzy Washington D.C. neighborhood of Kalorama.
Now, it has been revealed that a real estate agent is trying to exploit the fact that the Obamas are moving to Kalorama to sell a $3.8 million house down the street.
IJ Review reported that Stephany DeBerry of eXp Realty wrote in a listing that ran December 2nd in the Wall Street Journal’s real estate pages that her 2472 Belmont Road, NW., listing is a strong buy because it will be inside an 11-house gated security zone, soon to be established in order to protect the Obamas.
Here’s DeBerry’s listing:
An anonymous source revealed that DeBerry’s listing includes information about the upcoming security measures at the Obama home in the effort of full disclosure for a potential future buyer. Though many have speculated that the Obamas’ presence combined with their Secret Service detail will cause an increase in traffic in the area. DeBerry, however, sees no negatives about selling a house “steps from the new Obama family residence.”
