Omarosa Manigault, a Trump loyalist and former The Apprentice winner, appeared on ABC’s The View Friday to defend the President. The majority of The View’s panel is comprised of admittedly liberal voices (although Whoopi Goldberg was absent today), but the conversation still devolved from civil to downright nasty in the span of a few minutes.
As Omarosa defended the first week of the Trump administration, Joy Behar rudely interrupted to ask her point blank, “Can we see Donald Trump tax returns, do you think?” to wild applause from the crowd.
“I’m not going to fall for that,” Omarosa responded.
It isn’t a secret that the hosts of The View are single, older, sad, lonely women. Omarosa, in a style true to Trump, turned to the audience and acknowledged her soon to be husband in the crowd – it was returned with applause.
Not skipping a beat, Omarosa turned to Joy Behar and said:
“And I hope that you one day could find that kind of joy, Joy, in your life.” BOOM!
Co-host Sunny Hostin came to the defense of Behar immediately, invoking the Michelle Obama quote, “When they go low, we go high!”
Behar’s quick-witted comedic timing snapped right into action. “That’s right, and I feel like I could get high right now.”
Behar is, in fact, married, and has been since last year to Steve Janowitz, her partner for nearly three decades.
