Throughout his presidency, Barack Obama repeatedly showed that he had no respect for the U.S. military. Today, Donald Trump made it clear that his time in the White House will be very different.
Daily Mail reported that Trump has been in mourning all week since the death a SEAL Team Six member killed in his first military raid in office. This afternoon, Trump and his daughter Ivanka flew to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to receive the body of Chief Special Warfare Officer William ‘Ryan’ Owens, 36.
Trump and his daughter were joined by Delaware Sen. Chris Coons at the private return ceremony, which was also attended by Owens’ family.
Owens was killed last Sunday in a predawn raid in which officials say “almost everything went wrong.”
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was visibly affected by Owens’ death when he discussed it during a press briefing before Trump’s departure, admitting that the raid was not a “100 percent success.”
“I think it’s hard to ever say something was successful when you lose a life,” Spicer said.
Clearly, Owens’ death hit Trump very hard. We’re glad we finally have a president who actually cares about members of the military!
