Donald Trump made one of his final trips on his private jet last night when he flew from New York City to Reagan International Airport in Washington D.C. He then flew back to New York for what will be his last trip on his jet, as he will use a military plane to fly back to Washington later today.
Daily Mail reported that after Trump is sworn in tomorrow he will be using Air Force One for the remainder of his presidency. Officials have previously said that it would be “nearly functionally impossible” for Trump to use his own jet instead of Air Force One.
Trump reportedly flew to Washington to attend two dinners, the first of which was meant to honor his Vice President-Elect Mike Pence and was made up of his top donors. Those who donated between $500,000 and $1 million were invited to this dinner, which was held at the National Portrait Gallery.
The second dinner was described as an “intimate policy discussion” and was held at the Library of Congress. Tickets for the dinner were included in an inauguration package that cost between $100,000 and $250,000. Trump only spent about 40 minutes at the event before he made a surprise visit to the Trump International Hotel to have a quick meal.
Trump then returned to his jet and flew back to New York City. He will return to Washington D.C. later today for his “Make America Great” concert, and he will be sworn in tomorrow as the 45th president of the United States.
